PV OUTPUT DATA

May 2010  Back to April 2010  Forward to June 2010

5/1 Net meter 000159. Turned on turbine after storm passed and I had to get up anyway to let out a dog at 1:10. Grid feed 23.69 KWh, fixed array 10.34, trackers 12.22, turbine 1.13.

5/2 Net meter 000161. Grid feed 23.42 KWh, fixed array 9.59, trackers 12.93, turbine 0.90. Put up our new double turbines today, no wind to spin them though. Two 1400 watt Missouri Wind Generals on one tower, call it a two star General.

5/3 Net meter 000163. Grid feed 39.49 KWh, fixed array15.19, trackers 22.80, turbine 1.5. I'll check our two star general's output alone as soon as I take the tower down and install the anemometer that arrived today. Both Generals spun up for a while today, but the wind was light and generated little. Everything works.

5/4 Net meter 000147. Grid feed 43.14 KWh, fixed array 16.47, trackers 25.08, turbine 1.59. Light winds again today.

5/5 Net meter 000123. Grid feed 41.26 KWh, fixed array 15.62, trackers 23.43, turbine 2.21.

5/6 Net meter 000103. Grid feed 49.89 KWh, fixed array 16.40, trackers 25.29, turbine 8.20.

5/7 Net meter 000073. Grid feed 40.91 KWh, fixed array 9.76, trackers 15.76, turbine 15.39.

5/8 Net meter 000043. Grid feed 64.67 KWh, fixed array 17.51, trackers 27.06, turbine 21.10. The record daily generation so far...

Here is the generation data graph for the last two days. Red is PV and wind combined, blue is wind only. The total generation for 5/8/2010 is a record 64.67 KWh.

5/9 Net meter 000011. Grid feed 26.15 KWh, fixed array 12.34, trackers 13.50, turbine 0.31.

5/10 Net meter 000002. Grid feed 23.68 KWh, fixed array 2.07, trackers 2.0, turbine 19.61.

5/11 Net meter 000004. Grid feed 31.89 KWh, fixed array 12.79, trackers 15.28, turbine 3.82.

5/12 Net meter 999998. Grid feed 19.12 KWh, fixed array 7.95, trackers 8.57, turbine 2.6.

5/13 Net meter 000000. Grid feed 21.81 KWh, fixed array 8.49, trackers 10.25, turbine 3.07.

5/14 Net meter 000004. Grid feed 16.55 KWh, fixed array 7.25, trackers 8.00, turbine 1.30. There has been zero generation out of the two new turbines so far. I've seen them generate 0.1 amps at 51.4 VDC for no more than a second or two at a time. That's with them spinning fast, wind noise from the guy wires and the mast rocking. Meanwhile the Whisper 500, with it's new props and stator, is doing great, often producing 1.4 KW or more while the Generals are not spinning at all.

5/15 Net meter 000011. Grid feed 14.04 KWh, fixed array 4.33, trackers 4.41, turbine 5.3.

5/16 Net meter 000024. Grid feed 13.50 KWh, fixed array 6.64, trackers 6.63, turbine 0.23.

5/17 Net meter 000034. Grid feed 21.56 KWh, fixed array 7.61, trackers 8.15, turbine 5.8.

5/18 Net meter 000034. Grid feed 43.00 KWh, fixed array 16.32, trackers 22.97, turbine 3.71.

5/19 Net meter 000020. Grid feed 28.28 KWh, fixed array 10.09, trackers 16.70, turbine 1.49.

5/20 Net meter 000018. Grid feed 16.39 KWh, fixed array 4.16, trackers 3.33, turbine 8.90.

5/21 Net meter 000024. Grid feed 23.70 KWh, fixed array 9.32, trackers 12.68, turbine 1.7. Our Whisper 500 turbine has now worked without breaking longer than ever before, (now three months straight), and is working better than ever before, (with the new props and stator replaced by warranty). Through several heavy rains which before could have shorted the stator, (special PMA paint added), and no shorting, arcing or heating of the yaw shaft brushes causing melting and shorting of the yaw shaft insulation, (lightly greasing the slip rings and electrical brushes).

5/22 Net meter 000028. Grid feed 42.33 KWh, fixed array 15.89, trackers 24.54, turbine 1.90.

5/23 Net meter 000011. Grid feed 35.25 KWh, fixed array 13.65, trackers 20.09, turbine 1.51. Hurray!! I found the problem in my Generals! Both turbines have a short in the rectifier. I can replace them easy!! These were the last two old style 120 Volt pma's Jeff had. Now he sells his own line of PMA's with American made high quality rectifiers. My Generals will soon be upgraded and back in the air! http://www.missouriwindandsolar.com/

5/24 Net meter 999995. Grid feed 33.94 KWh, fixed array 13.09, trackers 20.21, turbine 0.64. Ran the air conditioner all day at 68 degrees to dry out the house. Took apart the second General, cleaned up and painted both cores. A really great job of sealing the cores can be done with them disassembled. Painting through the housing looked good until I took them apart. Also today I changed the zenith angle of the trackers to the highest setting used.

5/25 Net meter 000002. Grid feed 37.82 KWh, fixed array 15.46, trackers 22.06, turbine 0.30.

5/26 Net meter 999997. Grid feed 24.39 KWh, fixed array 9.44, trackers 14.74, turbine 0.21.

5/27 Net meter 000005. Grid feed 33.53 KWh, fixed array 12.94, trackers 19.48, turbine 1.11. The last four days have been muggy and temperatures in the 90's with the air conditioner running most of the day, clouds developing every day, storms too.

5/28 Net meter 000002. Grid feed 43.6 KWh, fixed array 16.17, trackers 24.56, turbine 2.87. This is the first time since last summer the solar hydronics are hotter than the electric hot water tank.

5/29 Net meter 999988. Grid feed 34.99 KWh, fixed array 14.01, trackers 20.38, turbine 0.6.

5/30 Net meter 999984. Grid feed 30.7 KWh, fixed array 12.04, trackers 18.26, turbine 0.4.

5/31 Net meter 999985. Grid feed 27.69 KWh, PV 27.49, turbine 0.20.
