PV OUTPUT DATA

June 2010  Back to May 2010  Forward to July 2010 I log the net meter value just as the sun comes up in the morning to include all overnight consumption. The grid feed value is total system output checked from data on line at Sunny Portal to include all overnight wind turbine generation. Some power is used by the house and some is pumped back to the grid. I turn the values green when they are checked against the Sunny Portal after 10:00 the following day.

6/1 Net meter 000001. Grid feed 35.04 KWh, fixed array 13.67, trackers 21.17, turbine 0.20.

6/2 Net meter 000007. Grid feed 32.67 KWh, fixed array 13.30, trackers 17.67, turbine 1.7.

6/3 Net meter 000011. Grid feed 34.09, fixed array 14.43, trackers 19.56, turbine 0.10.

6/4 Net meter 000018. Grid feed 38.31, fixed array 15.42, trackers 22.69, turbine 0.20.

6/5 Net meter 000022. Grid feed 27.70, fixed array 12.21, trackers 15.09, turbine 0.40. It's a sad day as I figured out why the two new turbines don't generate. They will generate 12 or 24 volts fine. But the 11 blade fans won't spin fast enough to generate at 52 volts. With 11 blades, it prevents the fan from achieving high rpm. Less blades and the start up wind speed will be so great the fans will rarely turn at all. The Missouri Wind Generals must be retired and replaced. With gusts to 21 mph I witnessed zero amp generation.

6/6 Net meter 000040. Grid feed 46.4, fixed array 16.08, trackers 24.50, turbine 5.82.

6/7 Net meter 000024. Grid feed 18.57 KWh, fixed array 7.79, trackers 10.05, turbine 0.73. Jeff from Missouri Wind is sending two replacement pma's, says mine must be defective. I sure hope the new ones work! The consolation is, the harder I have to work to get things working, the more I know about them.

6/8 Net meter 000027. Grid feed 18.2 KWh, fixed array 6.90, trackers 7.60, turbine 3.7.

6/9 Net meter 000042. Grid feed 33.01 KWh, fixed array 14.08, trackers 17.42, turbine 0.36.

6/10 Net meter 000042. Grid feed 34.64, fixed array 13.60, trackers 19.04, turbine 2.0.

6/11 Net meter 000054. Grid feed 10.89, Total PV 9.79, turbine 1.1.

6/12 Net meter 000071. Grid feed 37.30 KWh, fixed array 14.56, trackers 20.53, turbine 2.21.

6/13 Net meter 000075. Grid feed 31.6, fixed array 12.16, trackers 18.24, turbine 1.2.

6/14 Net meter 000087. Grid feed 33.17, fixed array 13.65, trackers 18.01, turbine 1.51.

6/15 Net meter 000097. Grid feed 36.3, fixed array 14.46, trackers 19.45, turbine 2.39. Today a storm was tracking towards us with predicted 60 mph winds so I set up my amp probe on the wire from our small turbine and watched that and the amp/volt meter connected into the charge controller as the storm arrived. The winds came and our turbine was spinning faster than ever before and zero generation was happening with the new pma. Suddenly there was a loud pop, smoke came out of the amp/volt meter box, it went black and the amp probe immediately began registering charging amps, but only 0.35 amps.

6/16 Net meter 000100. Grid feed 31.89, fixed array 12.54, trackers 19.35, turbine 0.0.

6/17 Net meter 000106. Grid feed 25.24, fixed array 9.8, trackers 14.43, turbine 1.01. Had some good wind today and still maximum micro turbine charging was 0.35 amps for about five seconds through the whole day. I am beginning to think that these pma micro turbines have been a real waste of time and money for 48 volt charging. I think the speed the fan turns is insufficient for the speed the pma should turn.

6/18 Net meter 000121. Grid feed 33.31 KWh, fixed array 12.62, trackers 19.89, turbines 0.80.

6/19 Net meter 000126. Grid feed 38.46 KWh, fixed array 14.53, trackers 20.33. turbine 3.6.

6/20 Net meter 000124. Grid feed 36.51 KWh, fixed array 14.27, trackers 22.14, turbine 0.10.

6/21 Net meter 000134. Grid feed 33.0, fixed array 13.07, trackers 19.50, turbine 0.43.

6/22 Net meter 000150. Grid feed 37.69 KWh, fixed array 14.9, trackers 22.19, turbine 0.6. The house is using 49 KWh in a day! I guess it's the AC and 97 degree weather.

6/23 Net meter 000164. Grid feed 36.64, PV 36.14, turbine 0.50.

6/24 Net meter 000174. Grid feed 30.10, fixed array 12.73, trackers 16.67, turbine 0.7.

6/25 Net meter 000175. Grid feed 31.99 , Total PV 30.79, turbine 1.20.

6/26 Net meter 000184. Grid feed 35.24, fixed array 14.36, trackers 20.00, turbine 0.88.

6/27 Net meter 000192. Grid feed 34.30 KWh, fixed array 13.55, trackers 17.17, turbine 3.50.

6/28 Net meter 000206. Grid feed 37.98, fixed array 15.09, trackers 20.49, turbine 2.40. I cleaned the radiator with a wire brush on our AC this morning, unit was showing dirty filter and the filter was clean. Radiator was stopped up with lint.

6/29 Net meter 000206. Grid feed 38.02, fixed array 14.91, trackers 22.21, turbine 0.90.

6/30 Net meter 000206. Grid feed 45.42, fixed array 16.13, trackers 25.49, turbine 3.80. The General micro turbine spun a lot today but generated nothing. Due to cool air and North wind, I didn't need AC today.

Here is the daily graph of system output from Sunny Portal for the month of June. Blue is total production including PV and Wind. Red is Wind only.
